I have been manically op-shopping this week, mainly in an attempt to get some fabric to make some items for my very slowly evolving market stall. Truth be told, I am very scared to put my stuff out there and am using the Etsy shop to test my big toe.
Happily, I got my first sale this weekend which boosted my morale.I think I can go forward now!
I bought an awful lot of vintage sheets, teatowels, tablecloths, fabric remnants, curtains, bedspreads this week. You name it I bought it. If it even had a whiff of vintage, I snaffled it. It wasn't all quality, but boy I sure got the quantity! There were a few jewels though, and I thought I would show you those.
This barkcloth was made into a couple of laundry bags and a pillow case. I have made up a story that they were for a girl who was sent off to boarding school, and her loving mother made her some pretty things to make her feel at home.
I was given this at a garage sale...but it is very smelly. It is a nice medium weight.I haven't washed it yet. I am too scared the smell won't come out! I know that doesn't make sense, but I have a fear of failure!
I think this is a reproduction of a vintage pattern. There is nothing written on the selvedge. It was used as tablecloth and I can't get some stains out. Yes, I have washed this one!
A vintage sheet. It is very difficult to find sheets that were for boys, everything is florals. This reminds me of the Brady boys bedroom. I think they had a similar wall paper. I have already used it for a banner that I will show you tomorrow.
Pop over to
Sophies and have a look at the treasures that everyone has found this week. xxNick
