I am trying to stop, truely I am. I didn't go to town yesterday so I wouldn't be tempted with garage sales and opshops with clearance sales. I have seriously tried to resist buying more...but ...well here's the evidence. On one hand I haven't been very successful, on the other...well!
Massive glass jars for my flour. I just need to ge the rubber seals. A shabby cane basket that I will have to clean with a toothbrush. Some more linen and my new collection. Don't ask me why, but I am drawn to these utensils with wooden painted handles. Am I getting desperate?
I got most of these on our road trip to Nymboida. I am not sure what I am going to do with them. Make stuff I suppose. I am looking for inspiration.
Another example of the John Cusack film that I can never spell (or remember). Not synchronicity... Anyhoo, I was looking for a sewing box in Spotlight, saw the price and thought "They're dreamin'!" Went around to the oppy and found these two lovely baskets. The lining and the tops are a bit worse for wear so I picked up this excellent scarfe to re-line them...'Animals and flowers of New Zeland.' Gorgeous!
Now I am off to the Channon Markets. It has been two days, I need my fix.
Pop around to Sophies at
Her Library Adventures for more great finds. xxNick
I love love love the basket. Such a great shape. xo
ReplyDeletethere is definitely something about those utensils, it's not just you!
ReplyDeleteI love those jars. I posted a photo of someone that used a very similar jar to disply their candles - looked great. If you want to check out the photo - the post is on my blog and is called 'Inspirational Home'. Using them for flour will look great.
ReplyDeleteI have the sewing basket on the right! I love love love sewing baskets. I have four now and I intend to find more! I can totally understand your problem. :)
ReplyDeleteOooh... what a lot of treasure.
ReplyDeleteI like the little marching band boy & the basket, that's just a wee bit special.
I know how you feel about trying to resist, but what if I miss out on something!
ReplyDeleteYour haul is great. I did resist this week, so have nothing to show.
My hubby is the one in our family with the kitchen utensil collection. He has heaps. There are so many different items.
What a lot of lovely finds! Love the little basket...will be worth the fiddly work with the toothbrush. Hope all is well in your little slice of the world :)
ReplyDeletethat's a lovely print on that linen in the top photo. definitely finds worth a little hunt, even if you are trying to stop!
ReplyDeleteI can see why you are drawn to those utensils, and the basket is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteGreat finds. I'm looking for a sewing basket and I'm loving your finds. PS Let me know where you find your seals because I use exaclty the same jars for my flour and I could do with some new seals.
