My creative space - Inspiration for craft

Op-shopping today, I came across a complete collection of the "Golden Hands Encyclopedia of Crafts" which was published weekly in 1975.

I thought, "This will be a fine repository of retro craft. It will have a plethora of ideas so I can make something really unique, with a contemporaty twist, which will  knock the socks off of the blogging craft community, and send them scurrying for copies of this (by then) collectible collection"

That high falutin' thought soon deflated as soon as I opened it to page 1458, "Modelling with silver foil." I think the pictures speak for themselves.

It is not for want of trying. That kangaroo, complete with joey, has come up a treat with the right lighting. It looks a million bucks! I'd swear there were diamonds on it! Just the thing for that bare spot on the mantle.

I think I will have to look elsewhere for inspiration. Join the others over at Kootoyoo, where I am sure they are doing a damned better job than the folk at Golden Hands. xxNick

  1. Oh, that's hilarious! Love the sparkle effect of the photo. What a great find, hope the rest of the book was a little bit better.
