My creative space - Red stuff

Rosella's and Cherry Guava's have ripened and are ready to be picked and jammed. Yesterday I got me a brand spanking new jam funnel in readiness for the big jamming day. It is glossy red and very pretty to look at.

I have been making jam for the last year using lots of creativity (and mess and patience... lots of patience!), making things up as I go along, with made up utensils, and bits and pieces,  but enough is enough.  Doing things the hard way and making things without the correct tools is not the way to go. I can't wait to christen this little beauty!

Speaking of the correct tools, I have been very excited about the Pincushion Swap , but also apprehensive, as the creative gods hadn't spoken to me...until I saw this in my husbands work truck.

What has a smelly Wad Punch Kit got to do with girly pincushions you ask?
Well it gave me the inspiration with a capital "I" for the pincushion that I have just finished this morning.

I have a heap of felt that I have been collecting for a while and my vision was to make a (neat) pattern by punching holes into it. I could have cut a pattern out by hand, but these groovy little punches gave a more uniform and neater finish.

I really enjoyed making this and I hope that my partner likes it. The pincushion is all wrapped up and I will go into town today to send it on its merry way.

Pop over and see what other creatives are up to at Kootoyoo. xxNick
